In 2021, the Köstlan craft brewery from Brixen was taken over, along with all its know-how, by four entrepreneurs from the Eisack Valley. A new brand – Viertel Bier – was created. The brewery’s new location is at the Putzer in Schabs, which, like the Alter Schlachthof and the Viertel Bar in Brixen, is part of the same group.
Head brewer Kilian crafts his beer using water from the nearby Vals Valley, following traditional brewing methods.
Only raw materials from local – and in part organic – sources are used for the seven core beer varieties. In addition to these, the VIERTEL range is complemented by seasonal brews.
